Setting boundaries without giving up hope
Loving someone in addiction means holding two things at once: a firm line, and an open door.
April 2026
Boundaries aren't punishment — they're the limits that let you keep loving someone without losing yourself. "I won't give you money, but I'll drive you to treatment" is both firm and kind.
Be specific and consistent. A boundary you don't hold teaches that the line can be pushed. A boundary you do hold, calmly, can be the moment things start to change.
You don't have to choose between protecting yourself and holding out hope. Our team helps families find that balance every day — you're welcome to call.
